Best Practices
- Critically assess your child's overall academic competitiveness for this program. And, as with any assessment of which high schools a student would like to attend, make sure they will meet the needs, interests, and abilities of the child.
Apply to up to four selective enrollment schools in order of highest preference based on the initial assessment.
- Take part in additional high school entrance processes. For instance, magnet high schools, International Baccalaureate, Military Academies, Career Academies, etc.
- Consider multiple options for your child! Apply to as many high schools that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of your child.
